Super Adventure Hand Gives Platforming A Big Thumbs Up

Super Adventure Hand – crawling onto Xbox

You’ve played as a plumber, a hedgehog, a bandicoots and more than one goat over the years, but now it’s time for something a little more… hands-on. Super Adventure Hand has arrived on Xbox, bringing with it a wonderfully daft premise built around one very determined crawling hand.

Available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ10.74, Super Adventure Hand comes from developer DevM Games and publisher Upscale Studio, delivering a physics-based platformer that looks equal parts frustrating, ridiculous and strangely charming.

We’re already giving it a big thumbs up for originality alone.

A Platformer That’s All Fingers And Thumbs

The setup is absurd.

You were once a humble glove sales-hand, happily going about your business, until your best friend Arm suddenly detached itself and disappeared. Naturally, the only logical response is to fling yourself across dangerous obstacle courses as a sentient hand in search of answers.

Super Adventure Hand turns that bizarre idea into a full physics-driven platforming adventure, tasking players with crawling, climbing, leaping and gripping their way through more than 50 handcrafted levels.

Expect floating furniture, spinning saw blades, fiery hazards and plenty of moments where one tiny mistake sends you tumbling back to square one. It definitely feels like the kind of game where success is earned, one fingertip at a time.

Crawl, Climb And Customise

Beyond the platforming chaos, there’s personality packed into the experience.

You’ll be able to customise your heroic hand with rings, bracelets, watches and even nail polish, while vehicles like skateboards and cars mix up the gameplay across the adventure.

The whole thing is full of self-aware humour too, never taking itself remotely seriously – which is probably the right call when your lead character is literally a severed hand parkouring across kitchen furniture.

Still, weird ideas often make for memorable games, and Super Adventure Hand certainly isn’t lacking in creativity.

If you fancy lending this hand a helping hand, Super Adventure Hand is available right now on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
