Super Mega Baseball 2 swings onto Xbox One for free with GWG; Paid DLC pieces also available

-

Normally, Xbox Games With Gold delivers free games that have been out for a while already, but not today, for it marks the debut of Super Mega Baseball 2 as it arrives without costing a penny for the entire month of May. Some might call that a home run for the scheme!

Super Mega Baseball 2 looks to build on the success of the original SMB and provide a whole lot more fun. Amongst the many improvements are the refined physics of play, an overhauled presentation with stadiums rebuilt from scratch and comprehensive customisation options for leagues, team logos and kits. The Ego difficulty system returns to ensure you’ll not find it too easy or too tough, no matter what your skills with a bat are like. Furthermore, there are new competitive and co-op modes for online play, including the ranked Pennant Race mode, 2vs2 matches between humans and the opportunity to take on A.I. alongside friends. And best of all for those with pals in the PC world, it supports cross–platform play between Xbox One and PC players.

As part of the Games With Gold scheme for May, Super Mega Baseball 2 is free on Xbox One to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers from now until 31st May. So be sure to get over to the Microsoft Store to start downloading before the usual price of £23.99 returns and strikes out your chance of a freebie.

Alongside the GWG base game also comes a number of DLC pieces. Whilst you’ll have to pay for the Wild Team Customisation Pack (£2.79), Bold Player Customisation Pack (£3.59) and Wicked Team Customisation Pack (£2.79), you should really be found enjoying the extra items, jersey styles, team designs, logos and more that they bring.
