Super Rebellion blasts its way to Xbox

If you’ve been front and centre on Steam for three years, but have only received twelve reviews, something must be amiss, no? Well, that’s the case for Super Rebellion, but now, after trying the PC route and attempting to harness the power of the Nintendo eShop with a Switch drop, it’s the Xbox world that Colossus Game Studio and Cube Games are looking to embrace.

And we hope the Xbox community does embrace Super Rebellion. That’s not because it’s going to be a Game of the Year contender, nor because it’s going to be one of the must-play titles of 2022. But Super Rebellion could well find a market, as Xbox players look to defeat the evil which is threatening all humanity.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for just £4.99, Super Rebellion is a vertical-scrolling shooter which takes us off to the year 203X, commanding a little spaceship, blasting away at anything that gets in your way. And if it’s not in your way, make sure it is and then blast it some more.

A fairly simple visual style is present here, along with an audioscape that threatens to hark back to years gone by. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be giving Super Rebellion a shot, quite literally – that alien empire won’t leave unless you make them.

Super Rebellion is on the Xbox Store and you can play it on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S right now. If you prefer, you can play it on Nintendo Switch or PC via Steam too. Let us know in the comments if you decide to give it a go. We’ll run review as soon as we can.

Game Description:

Humanity succumbed to the power of an intergalactic alien empire, but managed to organize itself and establish a resistance army. Join the rebels in their quest for peace and help them defeat the evil that haunts the Earth.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
