The Super Woden name is heading off-road. Super Woden Rally Edge takes the racing series in a rally-focused direction, mixing its familiar arcade sensibilities with a greater emphasis on different terrains, weather conditions and the all-important race against the clock.
Now available on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC, the spin-off is built for those who like their rallying with a little more arcade attitude. There are cars to collect, credits to earn, upgrades to install and records to chase, all wrapped up in a distinctly old-school presentation.

A New Route For Super Woden
Rather than simply putting another collection of traditional races into the series, Super Woden Rally Edge is focused squarely on rallying. The aim is to climb the motorsports ranks by tackling events where the clock is just as important as whatever happens around you.
The game takes inspiration from classic arcade racers, but there is still a technical side to proceedings. Different terrain and changing weather conditions can make each environment a little more demanding, while learning the courses and improving your times should be key to reaching those podium positions.
It is a formula that should feel familiar to anyone who has already spent time with the Super Woden games, while giving the series a slightly different road to travel.
Buy, Build And Race
Away from the actual events, there is a garage to keep busy with. Winnings can be put towards new cars, while existing favourites can be upgraded and customised to help squeeze more performance out of them.
The vehicle collection is also intended to cover a broad range, from modest early machines through to considerably more serious hill-climb vehicles. That gives progression a tangible purpose as you gradually work towards a more capable garage.
There is also an overworld map to navigate, deliberately designed with an old-school feel. Between races, you can check your stats, keep an eye on your collection and generally spend some time tinkering before heading back out onto the stages.
Race The Clock, Then Chase The Records
Super Woden Rally Edge puts plenty of emphasis on times. Podium finishes are one thing, but beating your own records gives you another reason to return to familiar events and shave precious seconds from your best runs.
Photo Mode provides another diversion for those more interested in admiring their collection than immediately throwing it down another rally stage. You can also listen to the game’s original soundtrack between races, adding to the retro-inspired presentation.
And while this isn’t aiming for strict motorsport simulation, that balance between accessible arcade racing and more technical driving could make for an interesting combination.
A Familiar Name With A Different Focus
We’ve already seen the Super Woden series take a couple of different approaches to arcade racing. Super Woden GP scored 2.5/5 in our review, with the sheer quantity of racing content standing out despite some frustrating elements. Super Woden GP II fared better with a 3.5/5, offering a more agreeable throwback to arcade racing and a particularly intense challenge in its later stages.
Rally Edge now has the opportunity to take some of those foundations and put them into a more focused rally package.
Whether you’re chasing credits, hunting podiums, building a dream garage or simply looking for another reason to head back out onto the dirt, Super Woden Rally Edge is taking the series in a promising new direction.
Super Woden Rally Edge is now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Play Anywhere via the Xbox Store. PlayStation and Nintendo Switch versions are also available.
