HordeCore – now in Console Edition on Series X|S

Prepare for a post-apocalyptic experience quite unlike any other in HordeCore Console Edition.

A unique blend of survival, base management, RPG elements, and even a collectible card game, has launched on Xbox Series X|S.

Developed by Digitality Games and published by E-Home Entertainment, HordeCore Console Edition challenges you to lead survivors, build a haven, and battle the undead… with a deck of cards on the side?

Priced at ÂŁ9.99, HordeCore Console Edition drops you into a zombie-infested wasteland. You’ll become the leader of an ever-expanding group, tasked with managing supplies, upgrading your team and defenses, exploring randomly generated environments, and crafting deadly contraptions to fend off relentless hordes.

Note that this is a Series X|S only release, it won’t be playable on Xbox One consoles.

Beyond Survival: Build, Explore, and Battle

HordeCore isn’t just about staying alive. You’ll actively build and defend your safe haven, developing your community of survivors – each presumably with unique abilities.

Exploration is key, sending you out into randomly generated wastelands to scavenge rare materials needed for crafting better weapons and defenses. You’ll face not only endless waves of zombies but also other living threats. You can even team up with friends in Co-op Mode to face the dangers together.

Cards Among the Carnage: The Horde Tactics CCG

Here’s where HordeCore throws a curveball: it includes a complete, fully-featured Collectible Card Game called Horde Tactics.

This deck-building game features over 60 cards representing items, characters, and creatures found in the main game. You’ll gather and unlock these cards as you progress through the wasteland, building powerful synergy combos.

Crucially, the developers state that Horde Tactics is entirely optional. So, if card games aren’t your thing, you can focus purely on the survival, base-building, and RPG action. But for those who enjoy CCGs, it adds another intriguing layer to the experience.

More from E-Home Entertainment

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
