Swim through the surreal sea adventure of Silt

We won’t lie – Silt looks gorgeous. Delivering a wickedly surreal underwater adventure, it’s that beauty which today floats out onto Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.

Coming from Spiral Circus and Fireshine Games, Silt delivers players a monochrome world full of detail and delight. But also full of intrigue, interest and danger. It places you in the flippers of a lone diver, left to work their way through the underwater lands as the abyss is explored.

Fish swim around happily, sharks keep the eco-system on its toes and rays flatter from here to there. And neatly, in Silt, you can take control of these creatures, utilising their own unique abilities in order to help your diver through the puzzles and past the obstacles in the way.

Our full review of Silt on Xbox Series X|S (optimised) will talk you through the finer details, but be known that this is a bit of a stunner, only let down very slightly by a few little technical issues. Don’t let those put you off though, this is a visual-led story that nearly gets on a par with those classics of Limbo and Inside. And at times, it gets damn weird.

“As our debut game, we’re so thankful to everyone who dives into SILT today,” said Dom Clarke, Programmer at Spiral Circus. “Our goal was to create a deeply atmospheric single-player experience, and we hope players really enjoy their journey into the abyss.”

“SILT offers a truly unique experience for fans of puzzle-adventure games and is a title that we’re very excited to bring to players today,” added Sarah Hoeksma, Marketing Director at Fireshine Games. “The team at Spiral Circus has done an incredible job at creating a game that we hope stands alongside the best the genre has to offer, and we look forward to players diving into SILT’s eerie underwater world today.”

The key game features you need to know include:

  • Experience a surreal underwater world – Traverse stunning underwater vistas to discover unexplored ruins and ancient machinery hidden in the deep.
  • Discover the diver’s secret – Possess diverse and distinctive sea creatures, using their unique abilities to solve puzzles and travel deeper into the void.
  • Survive the abyss – Survive encounters and harness the power of deep-sea goliaths to awaken a long-dormant force at the centre of the abyss.
  • A harrowing journey deep beneath the surface – Explore an unsettling, monochrome world with a distinct hand-crafted feel, constructed from the sketches and dark imagination of artist Mr Mead.

You can find Silt on the usual digital stores. We’ll point you to the Xbox Store where you’ll find the game available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for £11.99. Silt is also available on PlayStation, Switch and PC.
