The dinosaur outbreak is far from over.
Tailbreak follows the stories of Alex and Rin as they fight to survive a city overrun by prehistoric predators. Across six fully voiced story chapters, you’ll blast your way through restaurants, caves and ruined streets, all while the pair exchange the kind of knowingly over-the-top dialogue you’d expect from a cult B-movie.
However, whilst the action remains firmly rooted in arcade shooter territory, Tailbreak comes to town with several new systems designed to make every run feel more strategic.
You’ll begin with little more than a handgun before scavenging for heavier weapons, healing items and explosives. Inventory space is deliberately limited, forcing players to make quick decisions about what deserves one of the two available item slots. Do you carry a grenade for the next wave of dinosaurs, or save that precious healing item for the inevitable boss encounter?
Arrange Mode shakes things up further with upgradeable weapons and customised handguns, while the Mutation Matrix remixes enemy placements and item drops to ensure no two playthroughs unfold in quite the same way.

Like the arcade classics that inspired it, Tailbreak is perfectly happy whether you’re tackling dinosaurs alone or sharing the chaos with a friend.
Local two-player co-op is available across the game’s story and bonus modes, while Score Attack and additional replay-focused options provide plenty of reasons to return once the credits roll.
And visually, Unreal Engine 5.7 gives Cypress Ridge a noticeable overhaul, with dynamic lighting helping familiar locations feel darker, moodier and considerably more dangerous than before.
