One of the most terrifying, and interesting, places on the planet is under the waves and Deep Ones, out on Xbox One, PS4, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch today, is a retro arcade-platformer that demonstrates just this.
The main protagonist of Deep Ones has had an unfortunate run-in with a big red evil octopus, left to traverse the darkness of the sea bed, meeting allies and enemies along the way, in order to make his way home and tell what is probably the story of a lifetime.
Quite a few different genres come into play with Deep Ones, so expect a variety of experiences from one section of the game to another. This should ensure that the widely classic arcade gameplay will stay fresh, so hopefully your time with Deep Ones won’t come to an end quickly.
It may be an Xbox One X Enhanced title, but the graphics are actually heavily influenced by the neon vibe of the ZX Spectrum, making Deep Ones seem very colourful whilst still capably representing the darkness of your underwater environment.
If Deep Ones is a game that interests you, and it should for just £3.99, then Xbox One owners should check it out on the Microsoft Store. It’s also today available on PS4, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch. Make sure you check it out or hold out for our full review which will be with you any day now.Â
