As the weather is (at least supposed to be) warming up, now is the time of the year when people move away from their Xbox One and flock to pools and beaches for a cool down in the water, for a Swim Out. Shock horror though: pools are full and navigating around other swimmers in the sea is proving too difficult as yet another person kicks you in the stomach whilst doing a breaststroke next to you.

Available to download right this very second, Swim Out is a puzzle game on the Xbox One with a very minimalist design. You’re tasked with getting your blue swimming cap wearing swimmer out of an area of water inhabited by red swimming cap wearing swimmers. Firstly, you make a move on the grid-based level, before the rest of the swimmers can take theirs; if you happen to be in one of their squares that they move into, then you must start again. Find the steps to get out of the pool or spend an eternity swimming around a pool with no escape like you made your Sims do when you were younger. You know who you are.
As well as having to deal with a variety of different swimmers and patterns of movement, there are several environmental hazards to contend with. Waves can halt you in your tracks for a couple of moves, but then there are more unusual hazards such as boomerangs, crabs, and even jellyfish! However, you can pick special water themed objects to help you out against these hazards and other swimmers including buoys, beach balls, water guns and flippers for a speed boost.
