We first heard of AER way back in 2015 and even then it had been in development for a couple of years already. But now, nearly three years after that announcement, and a cool five years from its initial birth, the mystic 3rd person exploration adventure is a reality. A stunning looking reality.
Available right now for ÂŁ10.79 (with the usual price of ÂŁ11.99 being discounted for its launch week), AER – Memories of Old will have you running around on the surface, and flying around in the air as you uncover secrets of the mysterious world you find yourself in. Playing as Auk, a young girl who has the ability to transform into a bird at will, you’ll be able to check out the huge open world, discover plenty of shrines, hunt down spirit animals, and uncover the ruins of a lost ancient civilization.
With a hugely artistic low-poly art style, it has to be said that AER – Memories of Old certainly looks the part. And we just hope and pray that the gameplay holds up. With a ‘Best Indie Game’ at Gamescom 2017 nomination behind it, chances are it’ll be more than worth checking out.
