Take in the free 3D horror of Opus Castle on Xbox

We’ve lost count of the number of ‘horror’ titles to release in the build up to Halloween, but what we do know is that not very many of them have arrived for free, with a zero price point in place. If you step into the Opus Castle though, you’ll be doing so for free. Kinda.

Available to download utterly free of charge from the Xbox Store, playable on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is Opus Castle.

The latest from the QUByte Interactive team – a gang well known for super cheap, super cheerful gaming experiences – Opus Castle arrives for free, opening its doors for players looking for a quick hit of 3D horror and adventure.

Based on the true history of a small castle found in São Paulo, Brazil, the mysteries of Opus Castle will unfold from the first steps to the very last, with as much focus being placed on the narrative as anything else.

Multiple paths await players who tread the floors of Opus Castle, all as they explore the land, uncovering secret rooms and hunt down a number of supernatural apparitions. Expect more than a few puzzles and riddles to play out.

Opus Castle is free to download from the Xbox Store, but it’s also accompanied by Opus Castle – Chapter 2. This second chapter seemingly adds to the free game with new adventures, but you’ll need to pay up in order to enjoy what it holds. A £4.19 price point isn’t going to break any bank though.

Let us know if you decide to delve into the hidden secrets of Opus Castle and Opus Castle – Chapter 2 on Xbox. The comments are below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
