Releasing today on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One – with releases for Switch, PC and iOS taking place earlier this year – In My Shadow tells the heart-wrenching tale of a young woman known as Bella who has had a falling out with her family. It’s only when a text message from her father appears on her phone that all the memories of a fun and happy childhood come flooding back, setting the scene for the plot that follows.
Playing out on the wall of her house, in In My Shadow Bella will relive many childhood memories; in order to well and truly put those memories into the past and move on with life, she must use household objects to navigate such memories. In a gameplay sense, this translates to the player having access to a number of objects in the 3D plane that must be moved around to create platforms in the 2D shadow world.
There’s typically more than one solution to each of the 50 puzzles spanning 4 different rooms, so a simple trial and error case this is not – it’s all about imagination!
