Take on the Super Perils of Baking on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC

super perils of baking

Written in verse, the Super Perils of Baking begins to play out on console and PC, as Lilymo Games embark on a ground up remake of their very first title.

Perils of Baking passed us by, mostly as it launched away from the Xbox ecosystem, harnessing the power of Nintendo Switch, PS4 and that good old PS Vita. Now though it’s time to chuck a super tag at it as Lilymo build things out to create the Super Perils of Baking. We’re not really sure what to expect but it certainly doesn’t look like this is an alternative to Overcooked!.

Available today to purchase and download on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, Super Perils of Baking has you taking on the role of a student baker with one goal in mind – nope, not to become a master baker, but to stop his brother from wrecking havoc across the land.

See, your sibling seems to have been hit be a wicked baking curse, infused by his chef’s hat as he looks to take over the world. This can’t happen, but you are the only one to stop him.

Super Perils of Baking will have you working through the lands, utilising platforming mechanics as you head off on your quest. Making the most of your fancy footwork, taking in the power of a minecart, heading underwater or even floating away with a balloon, Super Perils of Baking will task you with a ton of elements.

It’s all brought together neatly with some lovely pixel art, whilst a soundtrack should well ensure things are delivered with a fun little vibe. The promise of New Game+ modes and a host of secrets will keep you going even longer.

We’re currently working on a review of Super Perils of Baking and will let you know how it plays. You can pick up a copy of the game for yourself by visiting the Xbox Store and grabbing an Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S download for £7.99.

Game Description:

Super Perils of Baking is a ground-up remake of Lillymo Games’ very first title, 2018’s 2D platformer Perils of Baking. In Super Perils of Baking, players take control of a talented student-baker who has but one goal in mind: Stopping his brother — enchanted by a cursed baking hat garnered from their school’s basement — from wreaking havoc throughout the land. Written entirely in verse with a storybook-like presentation, Super Perils of Baking spans 50 core levels and totes plenty of secrets, too. With concise 2D platforming, balanced difficulty, beautiful pixel art, a fun soundtrack, and tons to unlock (including new playable characters). Lillymo’s newest offering is made for audiences young and old (and is especially cute for adults to play with their children). Whether on foot, hurtling in a minecart, swimming underwater, holding onto a balloon, or altering gravity and quite literally turning things upside down, Super Perils of Baking is a food fight for everyone… and True Bakers will find New Game+, Achievements, and tons of collectibles to keep them busy post\-adventure, too.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
