ace combat 7 experimental set

More than a decade went by between the release of Ace Combat 6 back in 2007 and the launch of the superb Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown in 2019. But since Bandai Namco delivered gamers the chance to take to the skies for some aerial combat in their latest of the Ace Combat series, the additional content drops have continued to arrive. That’s the case again now as Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown players gain access to a super special DLC set – one that focuses on the most experimental of aircraft.

Available to purchase and add into Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown 25th Anniversary DLC – Experimental Aircraft Series – Set may come with a stupidly long title, but it also comes with a pretty decent price point, with £9.99 all you’ll need to stump up in order to gain access to what is found within.

It’s what is in the Experimental Aircraft Series that is most interesting though, with three new aircraft and a couple of additional bonus sets included. These focus on the experimental, prototype planes too, with the F-15 S/MTD, the R-16XL and FB-22 Strike Raptor all included. each of these come with 7 additional skins, including a special option, along with the chance to utilise a fair amount of special weapons. Full details of each of the aircraft are as follows…

  • ACE COMBATâ„¢ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN – F-15 S/MTD Set – Playable Aircraft: F-15 S/MTD This new-and-improved experimental F-15 is equipped with 2D thrust vectoring nozzles and large canards for increased air combat maneuverability. This aircraft can equip the HPAA, FAEB, or HVAA as its special weapon. – Includes 7 skins, including the special “Sorcerer” skin.
  • ACE COMBATâ„¢ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN – F-16XL Set – Playable Aircraft: F-16XL A prototype bomber based on the F-16. This aircraft can equip the UGB, 4AAM, or 4AGM as its special weapon. – Includes 7 skins, including the special “Wizard” skin.
  • ACE COMBATâ„¢ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN – FB-22 Strike Raptor Set – Playable Aircraft: FB-22 Strike Raptor A stealth fighter based on the F-22 with improved explosive firepower. This aircraft can equip the XSDB, LAAM, or SFFS as its special weapon. – Includes 7 skins, including the special “Flash” skin.

But there’s more and the Experimental Aircraft Series DLC adds in two further bonus options. These come in the form of 10 new Emblems, which include 4 Nugget Emblems that celebrate the quarter century of the series, along with 6 others that focus on the likes of ‘Albireo’ and ‘Beast’. Then there are another 10 Skins that will let you customise things in Ace Combat 7 even more.

The Skins and Emblems can be amended immediately in multiplayer, however those looking to show off through the campaign mode will have to wait until they have completed specific modes at least once.

You’ll find the Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown 25th Anniversary DLC – Experimental Aircraft Series – Set rolling around your favourite digital stores right now, with the game fully playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Should you not feel that the full pack is required, but wish to enjoy one or two of the new planes, each of the F-15 S/MTD, F-16XL and FB-22 Strike Raptor are available at £3.99 each.

Obviously you’ll need a copy of the base game of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown in place prior to enjoying the new kit.
