Tales of Vesperia set to return in Definitive Edition form for Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC

-

To celebrate the upcoming 10th anniversary of JRPG Tales of Vesperia, Bandai Namco are bringing it back in a Definitive Edition this winter and it’ll feature characters, events and costumes which have never been released outside of Japan!

The classic RPG follows Yuri Lowell, a former Imperial Knight currently residing in the Low Quarter of the Imperial Capital Zaphias, as he takes on a mission to retrieve a stolen blastia core which is required to regular the water supply of his neighbourhood. What begins as a simple mission quickly spins into a series of events that sees Yuri befriending a load of characters, journeying to exotic locations and generally being thrown into the middle of a despicable plot to destroy the entire planet.

The Definitive Edition of Tales of Vesperia uses a specialised version of the “Tales of” series’ Linear Motion Battle System for combat. Players will control a single party member in real-time combat while the other three-party members are controlled by a customised set of A.I. commands. There’s also the opportunity present to swap between the four characters at any time during battles and perform both physical and Mystic Artes attacks.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC this winter. When it arrives it’ll feature two new fully playable party members released for the first time in the West; Patty Fleur, a young pirate searching for her lost memories, as well as Yuri’s rival and best friend, Flynn Scifo. Along with these two new playable characters, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will include additional scenarios and locations that will be brand new for players outside of Japan.

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
