The Tales of Remastered Project is continuing its fantastic work, and the next classic JRPG to get the modern treatment has officially been revealed – Tales of Xillia Remastered.
Bandai Namco has announced that Tales of Xillia Remastered is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 31st, 2025.
Revealed with a brand-new announcement trailer, this remaster will bring the classic story of two resolute heroes to a new generation, complete with enhanced visuals and a host of modern quality-of-life improvements.
A Tale of Two Heroes
Tales of Xillia was a landmark title for the series, being the first to offer players the choice between two different protagonists.
In this remastered version, you will once again dive into the magnificent world of Rieze Maxia, where humans and spirits coexist in harmony, and experience the story from two unique perspectives.
You can choose to play as either Jude Mathis, a pragmatic young medical student, or Milla Maxwell, the powerful and spiritual Lord of Spirits. An unfortunate series of events brings them together, leading to the discovery of a dangerous secret weapon in the hands of the kingdom of Rashugal.
Now fugitives, the unlikely pair must put their differences aside to unite two opposing worlds – one governed by spiritual power, the other driven by scientific progress – as war looms on the horizon.
Remastered for a New Generation
This new version of the beloved classic is more than just a simple port. It’s a full remaster designed to delight both returning fans and newcomers to the series.
The entire game has been remastered with enhanced graphics, bringing the beautiful world of Rieze Maxia to life with a new level of detail. A host of quality-of-life improvements have also been added, including an auto-save feature and early access to the Grade Shop, making the journey more accessible for new players.
All DLC Included
To make this the definitive edition of the game, Tales of Xillia Remastered will also include all the downloadable content from the original release. This includes a variety of character costumes, bonus items, and other fan-favourite extras.
