It’s not often a game gets a second trip onto the Xbox Store without much fanfare, but that’s exactly what’s happened with Tanky Tanks – Reloaded.
Launching as an Xbox Series X|S Optimised release, this appears to be a refreshed version of the original Tanky Tanks, which first arrived back in 2019 on Xbox One.
Whether you’ve never climbed into one of its tiny armoured vehicles before or you’re wondering what has changed this time around, Tanky Tanks – Reloaded is now available exclusively for Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ4.19.

Tiny Tanks, Big Battles
You’re dropped into compact arenas where survival depends on two things – staying one step ahead of enemy tanks while landing accurate shots of your own. As you work through the campaign, the opposition becomes increasingly aggressive, forcing you to improve both your movement and your aim if you want to make it to the final showdown.
It’s arcade action in its purest form, built around quick rounds and immediate pick-up-and-play appeal.
There’s more than one way to play, too. The single-player campaign offers the main challenge, but you can also tackle it alongside a friend in two-player co-op. If you’d rather settle scores locally, there’s also a competitive versus mode supporting up to four players.
It makes Tanky Tanks – Reloaded one of those games that’s arguably worth a shot when friends are gathered around the same screen, with quick-fire matches and plenty of opportunities for bragging rights.
A Second Shot?
The biggest talking point surrounding this release isn’t necessarily the gameplay – it’s the fact that Tanky Tanks has already been available on Xbox for several years.
Exactly what has changed in this new Reloaded edition hasn’t been made especially clear, beyond its optimisation for Xbox Series X|S. In fact, we aside from that optimisation, we’re struggling to see any/many changes.
And unfortunately, we weren’t particularly convinced by the original release either. Back in 2019, our Tanky Tanks review concluded: “Tanky Tanks on Xbox One is a bit of a mess really. It feels way out of its depth on the Xbox…”
With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see whether this updated version manages to improve upon the foundations laid by the original.
Ready For Another Roll Into Battle?
There’s no denying the appeal of a straightforward arcade tank shooter, particularly one that offers both cooperative and local multiplayer options. The question is whether Tanky Tanks – Reloaded has done enough to justify its return to Xbox.
If you’ve never played the original, this may be your chance to find out. Existing players, however, may want to look a little closer at exactly what’s new before jumping back onto the battlefield.
Tanky Tanks – Reloaded is available now via the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ4.19.
