The rank is open for a very British new ride, but the streets of Barcelona remain as chaotic as ever.

Publisher NACON and developer Simteract have today released a brand-new DLC for Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator, allowing players to get behind the wheel of the legendary London Black Cab. This new vehicle is available to purchase today on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Alongside the paid DLC, a new free update is also being released for all players, adding a host of new cosmetic items to help you customise your vehicle with a touch of multicultural flair.

A New Fare for a Frustrating City

When we first hit the streets of Barcelona in Taxi Life, we found an experience that was unique but also deeply flawed. In our 3/5 review, we noted that the game was “more frustrating than fun,” citing “dodgy AI” and constant fines as major issues that made the experience “quickly become tiresome.

While this new DLC adds a fantastic and iconic new vehicle to your garage, it’s a content drop that focuses on adding more variety rather than addressing the core mechanical issues. For those who have been able to look past the frustrations, however, this is a charming new way to ferry your passengers around the city.

London Calling: Meet the Black Cab

The star of the show is, of course, the legendary Black Cab. This new DLC introduces the officially licensed LEVC TX 2 model, recreated with an attention to detail that is true to reality.

World-famous for its unique design and iconic silhouette, this electric vehicle brings a touch of timeless British elegance to the sunlit streets of Barcelona. It features a sturdy build, a refined finish, and a spacious, comfortable interior to ensure your passengers have a premium experience.

The LEVC TX 2 also offers a different driving feel, with precise handling that is ideal for negotiating the narrow alleys and busy streets of the city centre. The Black Cab DLC is available today.

A Free Touch of Multiculturalism

But that’s not all and available today for all players is a free new update that adds a fresh set of cosmetic items to the game. In the spirit of multiculturalism, you can now customise your vehicle with new liveries featuring the flags of Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and France. A new set of stickers representing iconic elements from these countries is also available to decorate your dashboard.

It’s time to head back to the depot and add a true classic to your fleet. For fans of Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator, this new DLC is a great way to add a bit of British charm to your Catalan company. The Black Cab DLC and the free cosmetic update are both available today.

You’ll obviously need a copy of the base game to hand in order to enjoy the new content. Grab that from the Xbox Store for Xbox Series X|S. Alternatively, the game is on PlayStation and PC too.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
