It’s well known that Team17 rarely miss a beat, taking up publishing rights for only the best of the best indie titles – you only need to look at the brilliant Moving Out or stunning Yoku’s Island Express as prime examples for what they cover. And with the acquisition of Navegante’s debut title, Greak: Memories of Azur, they look to be on the right track once again.
Created for PC and console, Greak: Memories of Azur sees players taking on the role of a trio of magical siblings as they head to the land of Azur and try to overcome a deadly invasion which has hit their land.
The latest title to be snapped up by the award-winning Team17, the partnership between them and Navegante, as well as collaboration from Bromio is certainly one to keep an eye on. Featuring stunning hand-drawn, 2D visuals, Greak: Memories of Azur is a single-player based fantasy Metroidvania. By immersing yourself into the land, you will discover that the magical trio you control – Greak, Adara, and Raydel – begin to harness their own individual abilities and powers, helping them progress through the many environments they uncover. These include Greak’s natural agility and ability to fit through small and narrow spaces, Adara’s arcane magic attacks and power of levitation, and Raydel’s fighting skills and specialised gear to traverse difficult terrain – and all of these will be called upon as they attempt to defeat deadly enemies, solve puzzles, and overcome the troubles of their homeland.
Roderigo Fernandez & Gustavo Alcala, Co-Founders, Navegante Entertainment, said:
“Greak: Memories of Azur is a real labour of love for everybody involved with Navegante and our friends from Bromio; we want to create a game that excels artistically and exceeds the players’ expectations. Partnering with Team17 is a dream come true for us, since their track record in nurturing and launching indie titles is incredible, so we’re extremely excited to fulfil our vision for Greak: Memories of Azur with them.”
Max Everingham, Head of Publishing, Team17, said:
“We’re very pleased to add Greak: Memories of Azur to our rapidly growing and compelling games portfolio. As soon as we saw the visual style and entered the world of Azur, we were instantly absorbed into the universe that Navegante is creating, and we’re sure that our audiences will enjoy the Metroidvania journey just as much as we are.”
