If it’s fast-paced hack and slashing your want, and need a bit of Thai film inspiration to back it up, there’s pretty much only one game for the job – Krut: The Mythic Wings.
Based on the 2018 Thai CG animated film, Krut: The Himmaphan Warriors, Krut: The Mythic Wings comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC (through Steam of course) to provide the hack and slashing you desire.
It plays out as a 2D side-scrolling action platformer, whisking you off to a world of mystical creatures. It’s also a world full of magic as you play as Vera, a Krut warrior who is looking to save their homeland. You see, when the warlord Zulla rocks up in town, bringing with them six elemental guardians, you know just what needs to be done.
Krut: The Mythic Wings promises to deliver a challenging affair, all as you get to grips with a host of special moves, work through various combos and dial up the difficulty as you see fit. Thankfully it looks good as you go about this, and with a narrative running along in the background, it should have enough about it to keep you going back for more. But as our full review of Krut: The Mythic Wings on Xbox Series X|S talks, there are a few little issues that stop this from being one of those must-players we all love.

In a world full of mystical creatures and magic, the ruthless army of the Ogre invaded the land of the Garuda race. The Garuda army was defeated and the capital city was eventually fallen. Upon the destruction and despair, a badly wounded warrior found himself on a mysterious enchanted island called Himmaphan. He met a mysterious figure who entrusted him with a powerful artifact, the Mythic Wings.
