Join The Mobile Infantry
In Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!, players take on the role of a Mobile Infantry trooper fighting to protect humanity’s colonies from the relentless Arachnid invasion.
The Bugs have spread far beyond their homeworld of Klendathu, tearing through once-thriving human colonies and leaving destruction in their wake. The Federation has responded with overwhelming force – and you’re the latest recruit joining the front lines.
Guided by legendary Federation hero General Johnny Rico and newcomer Major Samantha “Sammy” Dietz, players are thrown into a campaign that blends over-the-top propaganda with intense battlefield action.
It’s that premise and set up that ensured we just had to include this in our Best Games of March article.
A Retro FPS Built For Bug Hunting
While the Starship Troopers universe has seen multiple gaming adaptations over the years, Ultimate Bug War! takes a distinctly retro approach.
The game presents itself as a Federation training simulation, delivering classic first-person shooter action through a series of missions packed with enemies, secrets and chaotic firefights.
Players will lead squads through sprawling battlefields, blasting apart waves of Arachnids while completing objectives designed to push their combat skills to the limit.
It’s loud, fast and unapologetically action-packed.
The War Continues
Fans of the franchise have seen several recent entries into the Starship Troopers universe. We even spent time battling the Arachnid hordes in Starship Troopers: Extermination, awarding it a 4/5 score and noting that “the gameplay is genuinely thrilling.”
Now Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! continues the fight, delivering a fresh spin on the universe through retro-inspired FPS action.
