Slightly dodgy capitalisation of title aside, In rays of the Light is an intriguing affair. One that comes about via the creative mind of those behind 7th Sector, this could well be thought of as one of those delightful walking sims. Or, a first person meditative quest. You decide.
Back in 2012 ‘The Light’ released, and this was then followed in 2020 by a Steam drop of ‘The Light Remake’. It went down pretty damn well too, gathering up a host of very positive reviews from the PC scene. Now though it’s time to hit console and that is where we find the release of In rays of the Light on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
You come to this tale left alone in the abandoned remains of a world that has seen better days. Gloomy, empty but incredibly beautiful, the world that Sergey Noskov has created, and the one that the porting team of Sometimes You have allowed is wonderful. And that’s a bit of luck too as exploring this landscape is what you’ll find yourself doing, working your way through the philosophical narrative and trying to make some sense of your surroundings.
With superb visuals and a soundtrack that urges you forward, it’ll be a cinch to discover the two endings that are available in In rays of the Light.
The usual digital stores will happily provide you with the required downloads of In rays of the Light on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, with a £6.69 price tag in place. And our full review of the Xbox version of the game will give you even more insight. Spoiler alert: We absolutely adore the world that is provided to us here and urge you to give this game a shot.
