Not content with taking home a couple of BAFTA awards, nabbing a big 5/5 review score from us and having released the Legacy of the Moonspell, Vampire Survivors is continuing to be enhanced. Today comes the Tides of the Foscari expansion. Can the best really get better?
The second DLC piece for the – frankly – brilliant and stupidly addictive Vampire Survivors, working on the back of Legacy of the Moonspell, is Tides of the Foscari.
Present and correct right now and available across Xbox and PC, Tides of the Foscari whisks you off to a world set inside a magical academy, which itself is inside a cursed lake, inside a vast forest. And dip in and you should expect to find much in terms of content – some 8 new characters, 13 weapons, 7 music tracks, 1 massive new stage and some 21 achievements – yes TWENTY-ONE!
Oh, and Tides of the Foscari adds in character animation to two heroes too. Do we need that? Probably not. Will we take it anyways? Yeah, of course we will.
Key expansion features in detail, include…
- Eight new characters! Including our central trio:
- Eleanor – Star pupil of The Azure Tower and a skilled magic user, Eleanor is as bright as she is shy.
- Maruto – Undefeated champion of The Crimson Anvil. Stern, brooding, but with a heart of gold beneath his scowl, Maruto is a man of few words and strong arm.
- Keitha – Sly, quick-witted, and fun loving, Keitha will do anything for a bit of adventure and levity. Deliberately stays near the bottom of class rankings in The Amber Sickle to avoid hassle.
- A brand new stage!
- Lake Foscari – An enchanted forest stuffed with fae mysteries, mythological entities, and beasts you’d find in any given RPG bestiary. The perfect place to have an average adventure with zero complications.
- 13 new weapons, including:
- SpellString
- Eskizzibur
- Flash Arrow
- Prismatic Missile
- But wait, there’s more!
- Character + enemy animation!
- 7 music tracks!
- 21 achievements!
- Surprises! (we can’t say how many, it’s a surprise)
But the best bit of Vampire Survivors’ latest expansion is found in the price and keeping in line with the stupidly cheap base game (£3.99) and the Legacy of the Moonspell at £1.59, Tides of the Foscari works similar, costing just £1.59 for a download from the Xbox Store or similar from Steam.
There’s no two ways to say this, we urge you to a) go and buy the base game of Vampire Survivors right now, and b) pick up the Tides of Foscari DLC along with it. You’ll not regret losing your life to this highly addictive game.
Keep an eye out for some review thoughts surrounding Tides of Foscari soon.
DLC Description:
Tides of the Foscari is the second DLC expansion for Vampire Survivors, introducing another huge stage as well as a slate of new characters, monsters and weapons to play with. And of course, secrets may be lurking in the shadowed canopies of the deep forest… But as always we can neither confirm nor deny the presence of vampires.
