The bombastic party games of OddBallers roll out to PC and console

There are a few dodgeball games already kicking around the gaming scene, but very few of them look to embrace the weirdness like OddBallers. Most surprising though is that it’s from the Ubisoft team. 

Think Ubisoft and you think Assassin’s Creed, The Division, Watch Dogs and Far Cry. Delve deeper and you may come up with Trackmania, with the Just Dance games or the brilliant – and we’re still standing by the fact this is one of our favourite games of the last few years – Immortals Fenyx Rising. 

But Ubisoft like to do odd too – Trivial Pursuit, Roller Champions, Rabbids. Really it should come as no surprise that it is they who are behind publishing rights of OddBallers. 

Created by the Game Swing crew, OddBallers is a new party game, one that focuses on that of Dodgeball. It promises to be brutal, unfair and absolutely absurd. And we can’t wait to play it. 

Sold as a bombastic party game in which players get to challenge their family and friends in dodgeball-inspired games, OddBallers will chuck you into numerous areans and left to get on with it, making the most of the items in play, all as you try and come out on top. 

Local and online play is possible and so understanding the goofiness of OddBallers should be easy. Basically put, dodge, block, grab, throw – that’s the premise behind OddBallers. But then various game modes come to the fore too – last-person standing, team-based battling or even the chance to shave some sheep, with lawn mowers. You can be sure we never did that in Lawn Mowing Simulator. 

As you’d expect of a party game, OddBallers will allow a ton of customisation too, with the key game features sitting as…

• PLAY A NEW TYPE OF HARD-HITTING DODGEBALL – Dodge, block, and grab whatever you can to throw at the face of your frenemies. Or use the environment to take other players down. This is dodgeball brought to the next level!
• EMBRACE THE ABSURD – Each arena comes with its own rules, offering various frantic mini-games where anything can happen! From classic last-one standing or team-based battles to crazier ones like shaving sheep with lawn mowers.
• CHALLENGE YOUR FRIENDS – Play with up to 4 players locally, or take the matches online and compete against 5 other contenders to decide who’s the greatest Oddballer of all.
• CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHARACTER – Customize your character from head to toe, with hundreds of options including outfits, haircuts, and more to be the best looking in the arena. And pick your favorite dance move to taunt your opponents.
