Wanna become one of the Castle Pals, adventuring through a creepy castle in order to uncover its most hidden secrets? Well now you can on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Available to purchase and download right this second on Xbox One and PS4, with a Nintendo Switch launch slated for a few days time, Castle Pals is the latest to come from the team at Ratalaika Games, delivering a cheap and cheerful experience that is no doubt full of easy to achieve Gamerscore.

Priced at just £4.99, Castle Pals sees you following the lives of Kylee and Owen as they stumble their way into the creepy Castle Pookapik – from there you’ll have to help them uncover the secrets within.

40 levels of action await as you utilise the skills of the daring duo – punching your way past foes with Kylee’s fists and flying high above their heads as Owen. Do so and success will be found in Castle Pals, with speedrunning opportunities galore awaiting those who manage to harness the retro visuals and fight back against the most fearsome of bosses.

Features include:

  • * Guide the Pals through 40 action packed levels!
  • * Smash bad guys with Kylee’s powerful attacks!
  • * Float around and explore using Owen’s propeller hat!
  • * Battle fearsome bosses!
  • * Cute retro art and music!

Our full review of Castle Pals will be coming your way in the days ahead but for now if you are already sold on a purchase then the usual digital stores will sort you out. The Xbox Store is our favoured port of call, but those preferring the PlayStation or Nintendo side of the format wars should also be well catered for.

Let us know if you decide to become a Castle Pal – the comments section is below. And if this latest Ratalaika Games title isn’t of temptation, then perhaps the likes of Thy Sword will be.

Game Description:

One night, Kylee and Owen stumbled upon creepy Castle Pookapick and decide to uncover its secrets! Nothing could possibly go wrong, could it? Play as two different characters! Punch your way through enemies with Kylee and fly above your enemies while avoiding traps as Owen! Earn optional gold medals by completing levels from start to finish faster than the posted time for each level. Can you collect them all?

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
