The Cat in the Hat Rainy Day mayhem – detailed and dated

When the weather turns gloomy, most families stay indoors. In The Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem, that’s when the real fun begins.

Outright Games and Dr. Seuss Enterprises have officially unveiled a brand-new game inspired by one of the most beloved children’s books ever written. Launching on October 30th 2026, The Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem is set to bring multiplayer mayhem to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Built around accessible party-game action, it promises a colourful mix of minigames, hide-and-seek challenges and classic Dr. Seuss-inspired chaos that the whole family can enjoy together.

A Rainy Day Turns Into An Adventure

Fans of Dr. Seuss will immediately recognise the setting. What starts as an ordinary day indoors quickly descends into delightful disorder as The Cat in the Hat works his usual brand of magic.

Players can take control of several familiar faces from the story, including Sally, Johnny, Thing 1, Thing 2 and Little Cat A, while both the Cat and the ever-concerned Fish help drive the action forward. The result is a game that transforms a simple household environment into a playground packed with surprises, challenges and plenty of opportunities for friendly competition.

One of the headline attractions is Find the Cat, a frantic hide-and-seek mode that sees players searching through the house in pursuit of the elusive feline troublemaker. Alongside that sits a collection of 18 minigames, each offering its own twist on the Dr. Seuss universe. From chasing runaway penguins to decorating oversized cakes, this should be perfect for quick bursts of fun that players of all ages can jump into.

Built For Families

Outright Games has built a reputation for creating approachable games based on well-known family franchises, and Rainy Day Mayhem looks set to continue that trend. We’ve been there with plenty of their games previously, like those of PAW Patrol: Grand Prix and Peppa Pig: World Adventures.

Simple controls, adjustable difficulty settings and a mixture of short and longer challenges aim to ensure younger players can enjoy the game just as much as experienced gamers. With local multiplayer supporting up to four players, it’s clearly designed with family game nights in mind.

Speaking about the announcement, Robin Flodin, CEO of Outright Games Group, said: “We’re excited to bring the wonderfully chaotic world of The Cat in the Hat to players in a completely new way. Rainy Day Mayhem captures the spirit of fun, mischief and imagination that has made this story a classic for generations, and we can’t wait for kids and families to jump in and experience it together! It’s a game designed for laughter and unforgettable moments shared with family and friends.

Arriving Just In Time For Halloween

Launching on October 30th 2026, The Cat in the Hat: Rainy Day Mayhem looks perfectly positioned to become a family-friendly alternative to the usual spooky season gaming lineup.

For anyone who grew up with Dr. Seuss’s classic tale, or parents looking for a new multiplayer game to enjoy with younger players, this one could be worth keeping an eye on when it arrives later this year.
