Ubisoft today unleashes the biggest update yet for The Crew Motorfest, marking the start of Year 2 and introducing a wealth of new content and features.

As we explored in our review of the base game, this arcade racing paradise already offered a diverse and exhilarating experience, and now it’s expanding to new horizons with the addition of the island of Maui, the thrilling Chase Squad experience, and a host of improvements.

Explore the Island Paradise of Maui

On the back of previous seasons, Season 5 welcomes players to the stunning island of Maui, featuring nine new areas and biomes, and over 470 km of fresh roads to conquer.

From volcanic landscapes and lush rainforests to coastal highways and winding mountain passes, Maui offers a diverse and breathtaking playground for all types of racing enthusiasts. And the best part? You can seamlessly travel between O’ahu and Maui without any loading times, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience.

New Playlists to Fuel Your Need for Speed

With the start of a new Season and Year, Motorfest players get the opportunity to partake in some new playlists.

  • Made in Japan Volume 2: This free playlist delivers an intense night street racing experience with a focus on Japanese car culture. Complete the playlist to unlock Rival Races, where you can challenge 21 rivals across O’ahu and Maui for exclusive rewards.
  • Chase Squad Playlist: Available with the Year 2 Pass, this adrenaline-pumping playlist puts you in the driver’s seat of high-stakes chases. Track down and take down street racing rivals in dynamic missions, rising through the ranks from rookie to respected squad member. Complete the playlist to unlock new open-world chases and experience an exclusive soundtrack by Carpenter Brut.

Year 2 Pass and Enhanced Editions

The Chase Squad experience is just one of the many exciting additions included in the Year 2 Pass, available for £24.99. The pass also unlocks 20 additional vehicles, including 7 exclusive Chase Squad vehicles and 13 new cars released through monthly drops.

The Year 2 Pass is also included in the refreshed Gold and Ultimate Editions of The Crew Motorfest.

Enhanced Gameplay Experience

Season 5 also introduces several key improvements for all players, including:

  • Functional Rearview Mirrors: For the first time in The Crew franchise, players can utilize functional rearview mirrors on new-gen consoles and PC, enhancing situational awareness and adding a new layer of realism to the racing experience.
  • Prestige Tickets: Earn Prestige Tickets to unlock previously missed rewards from Summit Contests, giving players a second chance to acquire exclusive items.
  • Grand Race Modifiers: Experience new challenges and modifiers in Grand Races on Maui, adding variety and excitement to the gameplay.
  • No Collision Option: Enjoy a more relaxed racing experience with the option to disable collisions in certain events.
  • Bug Reporter: An online tool that allows players to report bugs and track their progress, ensuring a smoother and more transparent development process.

Optimised for PlayStation 5 Pro

With the launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro on November 7th, The Crew Motorfest will be among the first games to receive enhancements for the new console. Experience smoother performance with 60 FPS and improved visuals with upscaled resolution and increased environmental detail.

Of course, if you’re an Xbox player, it’s already fully optimised for Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The Crew Motorfest Year 2 and Season 5 update is available today on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Buckle up, explore the new island of Maui, and experience the thrill of high-octane racing action in this exciting new chapter for The Crew Motorfest.
