The spirits have been restless for over two decades, and now they are finally ready to break free – Ghost Master: Resurrection is coming to console.
Developer Mechano Story Studio has officially announced Ghost Master: Resurrection, a full, modern remake of the beloved 2003 supernatural strategy game. This long-awaited return to Gravenville is set to launch digitally on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in March 2026.
Revealed with a haunting new trailer, this resurrection promises to bring the cult classic’s unique blend of puzzle-solving, strategy, and macabre humour to a new generation, rebuilding it from the ground up with a new engine and stunning modern visuals.
A Haunting Reborn for a New Age
The original Ghost Master was a unique gem that tasked players with being the “afterlife civil servant” in charge of scaring mortals out of their wits. It was a game that garnered a dedicated cult following from those who loved its creative concept and B-movie horror charm.
Ghost Master: Resurrection aims to fix the flaws of the past while keeping the spirit alive. It’s not just a remaster; it’s a complete overhaul.
The game features refined mechanics, improved AI, and expanded story elements that respect the legacy of the original while making it accessible for modern players.
Scare, Solve, and Strategise
Your goal remains the same: strike fear into the hearts of the living.
You will summon and control over a dozen unique types of ghosts, banshees, and ghouls. Each spirit comes with distinct personalities, powers, and haunting styles, now brought to life with modern AI and incredible visual detail.
The game features multiple intricately reimagined locations across the town of Gravenville. From spooky asylums and military bases to sorority houses and police stations, each map is a sandbox of scares waiting to be unleashed. You’ll need to combine clever puzzle-solving with tactical haunting to complete missions and discover hidden secrets.
Could this push Phasmophobia as the scariest game available on console? We’ll find out in 2026.
