When Xitilon released Butterfly onto Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S back in the early part of 2021, they provided a simple platforming experience that just so happened to come packed with a host of super easy to gather Xbox achievements and Gamerscore. Now though Butterfly 2 has emerged into the world – and we’re hoping for something pretty similar to first time around.Â
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Butterfly 2 takes the tried and tested Xitilon method (they’ve released Synchro Hedgehogs today as well which does the same thing) of providing a cheap and, hopefully, cheerful platform-puzzler.Â
That price is a standout, allowing players to fall into the world of Butterfly 2 for only ÂŁ4.19. Should you splash out on that low price you’ll discover an adventure which puts you into the world of a little caterpillar heading out on an adventure – one that will conclude with them grabbing a beautiful pair of butterfly wings.Â
40 levels lay between this newly emerging caterpillar and the chance to fly high as the pixeled visuals, new enemies and standard Butterfly mechanics lie in wait. You see, this is a pretty unique prospect in terms of standard platforming fare as alone this little caterpillar cannot jump. Instead you’ll have to help them bounce off enemies, use tubes and utilise more than an ounce of logic.Â
With collectible flowers present throughout, we’re hopefully that Butterfly 2 covers the same bases as the game which preceded it – a cheap, quick little playthrough that is able to muster up enough gaming goodness for an hour or so. Oh, and if it manages to throw a plentiful amount of achievements and Gamerscore our way too, all the better.Â
Key game features include:
- The caterpillar can’t jump on its own.
- Bounce off the enemies to your advantage!
- Use tubes to travel around the level.
- Wide variety of levels: both platformer skills and logic are required.
- Choose the right route to collect all the flowers.
