Coming from the Aeternum Game Studio, Aeterna Noctis is a 2D metroidvania which many have been pinning hopes on. Today we get to finally understand whether those hopes were justified as release occurs on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
Aeterna Noctis tells the story of the King of Darkness and the Queen of Light as their lives unfold through a non-linear story that is full of twists, turns and multiple sidequests. There are more than a few hidden secrets and mysteries to unveil too.
Priced at £24.99 and available to download on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (fully optimised for the next-gen), PS4, PS5 and PC, Aeterna Noctis will give players the opportunity to delve into the world of the King and Queen as their eternal fight rages on. With 16 challenging levels allowing this to play out – each of which has been designed to be completely unique and distinct – dropping into this adventure is sure to appeal to many, none more so than fans of the Metroidvania scape.
If you do decide to drop in, then more than 100 different enemies will be found making their way towards you. Throw in upwards of 20 powerful bosses too, along with dozens of challenging puzzles and it is easy to see where the draw comes from. The promise of super fluid gameplay helps.
