The gloves are on, the cage door is locked, and EA SPORTS UFC 6 is officially available – at least for those willing to pay for early entry.
Launching in Ultimate Edition form, the latest chapter in EA’s mixed martial arts franchise arrives with new technology under the hood, fresh career-focused modes, and what appears to be a longer-term content roadmap than ever before.
Available now on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 through the ÂŁ99.99 Ultimate Edition, UFC 6’s Standard Edition won’t arrive until June 19th, giving dedicated fight fans a full week of early access before everyone else joins the action.

More Than Just A Roster Update?
Annual sports games often face the same question: what’s actually new this time?
According to EA, UFC 6 is built around making fighters look, move and react more authentically than ever before. New Markerless Capture technology has been used to improve fighter animations and movement, while Sapien Technology creates more realistic body models for the UFC roster.
The biggest gameplay addition may well be the introduction of Real-Time Contact, utilising Frostbite-powered physics systems to create more dynamic impacts, damage reactions and knockdowns inside the Octagon.
EA is also introducing Flow State, designed to amplify a fighter’s signature strengths when momentum swings in their favour. Whether that leads to more dramatic finishes or simply more authentic representations of UFC stars remains to be seen.
New Modes Look To Tell Bigger Stories
UFC 6 isn’t relying solely on improvements between the ropes. Two major new modes headline the package.
Hall of Legends allows players to revisit iconic moments from UFC history, stepping into the shoes of some of the sport’s most famous fighters and recreating defining bouts.
Meanwhile, The Legacy offers a new career-focused experience, taking players from humble beginnings to championship contention in a story-driven progression system designed to make each fighter’s journey feel more personal.
For a franchise that has traditionally leaned heavily on exhibition bouts and competitive online play, these additions could provide welcome variety.
Ultimate Edition Comes Loaded With Extras
Of course, the headline talking point for launch week may well be the Ultimate Edition itself.
Beyond the seven-day early access period, players receive the Fighter Pass, featuring UFC legends including Randy Couture and Ken Shamrock making their EA UFC debuts, alongside six additional fighter drops planned for future release.
There’s also an Expansion Pass promising two major post-launch expansions arriving in Winter 2026 and Summer 2027, suggesting EA intends to support UFC 6 for considerably longer than previous entries.
The package is rounded out by the VIP Pass, exclusive cosmetics, fighter skins and bonus UFC Points.
Building On A Strong Foundation
Expectations are reasonably high for UFC 6. When we reviewed UFC 5 back in 2023, we awarded it a 4.5/5 score, concluding: “This time – if it’s in the game, it’s in the game. EA Sports UFC 5 is a must buy, and given a few tweaks for the next version – and providing they don’t dive headfirst into a pile of microtransactions and filler modes – the UFC franchise from EA could become one of the greatest sports titles of all time.“
Now UFC 6 gets its chance to deliver on that promise. With improved fighter authenticity, new story-driven modes, major post-launch plans and a sizeable roster of current stars and legends, EA appears to be aiming for more than just an annual refresh.
Whether it lands a knockout blow or merely wins on points remains to be seen (and we’ll find out in review), but UFC fans can jump into the Octagon today through the Ultimate Edition, ahead of the wider Standard Edition launch on June 19th. UFC 6 is not on Game Pass at launch.
