Games that promise a return to proper old-school survival horror are nothing new, but in COLINA: Legacy that is exactly what we are getting. Being left to utilise a flashlight to make our way around, and taking in a third person camera angle, fans of horror will be in their element. And it is now that we are seeing COLINA: Legacy launch on Xbox One.

COLINA: Legacy on Xbox One comes about via the team at chance6 Studios, and from the initial overview it certainly looks to have a bit of old-school Resi Evil about it. Priced at a mere £4.19 and available to download right now from the Xbox Store for Xbox One, COLINA: Legacy sees you playing out proceedings as Alex, a man who has awoken in his grandmother’s home.

Now waking up at your grandparents should be no cause for alarm, but in COLINA: Legacy from the very first minute it feels as if Alex is being watched and so before he loses his mind, must escape the horror.

This will see you pushed through multiple puzzles as you attempt to understand what his happening in the world, drawing deep into Alex’s wits in order to make an escape. It certainly looks like this psychological horror will play out a bit like an escape room – do you have what it takes to help him?

With obvious inspiration from the great survival horror titles of the past, and seing you being left to fend for yourself with just a trusty flashlight to hand, should you be on the lookout for something to scare you witless – possible in multiple ways – then a purchase of COLINA: Legacy on Xbox One should be considered.

Game Description:

AWARDS: Best “Let’s Play” Dreamhack Atlanta 2018 About COLINA: Legacy Alex wakes up in his grandmother’s home. Alone and unsure of where everyone has gone, he begins his escape, the feeling of someone… or something watching him lingering on his mind. Facing the unknown, Alex must make it through the night, and the house, before he loses more than just his mind. Grandma’s House Awaits… COLINA: Legacy is an indie horror game with challenging puzzles. Control Alex as he struggles to grasp what has happened when a visit to his grandmother’s house becomes a vacation of terror. Psychological horror finds a new home when the young Alex wakes to find himself alone and in need of escape. He’ll have to use his wits to get through the terrifying situations set before him. Escape Room of Terror – The design of COLINA: Legacy was approached with escape rooms in mind. Challenging puzzles await Alex as he explores granny’s house, but the puzzles aren’t the only thing that awaits him on his journey. Return to Old-School Survival Horror – From the third person camera, to the flashlight as your one true weapon, COLINA: Legacy pays homage to the great survival horror games of the past while making a place for itself in the genre. Stunning Visuals and Sound – While COLINA: Legacy may have been developed by a very small team, the visuals and audio stand out in league with larger games. COLINA: Legacy is a game to be experienced!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
