The ‘French Final Fantasy’ adventures of Edge of Eternity roll out on console Funded on Kickstarter and released on PC back in 2021, Edge of Eternity finally launches on console. If you’re in the market for an enthralling narrative, a gorgeous fantasy world to explore and some epic battles to partake in, this is one you will surely not want to miss.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and via that previous PC Steam drop – it’s coming to Switch on 23rd Feb too – Edge of Eternity has been created by the team at Midgar Studios, giving players the opportunity to join a couple of protagonists – Daryon and Selene – as they head off on a quest. That quest? Well, it focuses on hunting down the cure for the all-consuming Corrosion.
Just as Midgar Studios themselves get picked up and put under the NACON banner, this ‘French Final Fantasy’ drops onto console to deliver this epic tale to a new wave of player.
It’s available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (and yep, this one is fully optimised for the next-gen and comes with Smart Delivery), and will allow players to take in this wild ride, meeting a host of the most unforgettable characters as they explore the world around them, all in hope of hunting down that cure.
With the promise of upwards of 50 hours of gameplay found within, voicework in both English and Japanese and crafting and combat systems that are not just deep, but will allow you to qork some seriously unique angles, there’s some high hopes for the drop of Edge of Eternity on Xbox, PlayStation and, a little later, Switch.
“Edge of Eternity is the most ambitious project we’ve ever worked on and we were thrilled by its reception on PC last year,” said Jeremy Zeler, founder of Midgar Studio. “It was heavily inspired by console JRPGs, so it feels right at home on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. And being able to play it with a Japanese voice track really adds to the authenticity of its Eastern influence!”
Our full review of how Edge of Eternity plays on Xbox Series X|S is live so feel free to give it a read, but we’re pretty sure the key feature set alone will sell what you need to know, and if not, the fact that it’s in our ‘Up Next’ article, detailing the most exciting games of February 2022, should…
