The clock is ticking and the future of Heaven is in the balance. Can you save it in time? That’s the question posed by The Holy Gosh Darn as it is announced for PC and console.

A new comedy adventure game announced by Yogscast Games, The Holy Gosh Darn is set to launch on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC in late 2023.

It’s being developed by Perfectly Paranormal, the team behind Manual Samuel and Helheim Hassle, as The Holy Gosh Darn promises to be a hilarious, time-travelling adventure that will take players on a wild ride through space and time.

You’ll be put in charge of Cassiel, an angel tasked with preventing an army of Phantoms from taking over Heaven. To accomplish this, Cassiel must use the Holy Gosh Darn, a mysterious artifact created by God many thousands of years ago, to travel back and forth through time. Expect to be found altering events and meeting a colourful cast of characters along the way.

The game promises inventive puzzles, outrageous humor, and Metroidvania-style progression. Three things that stick a tick in the positive box.

“I’ve always admired Perfectly Paranormal for their ingenious ideas and laugh-out-loud humour, and The Holy Gosh Darn looks set to take this even further with its hilarious approach to time travel,” said Simon Byron, Director of Publishing at Yogscast Games. “If you’ve ever wanted to play a game that stars an angel with a magic, upgradeable time-travelling watch, well… you’re going to love it.”

The game boasts four different worlds to explore, taking us across space and time, with a unique time-pressured narrative kicking around behind that. The narrative itself is triggered by progression, time, space, and logic, with twenty-three Heavenly Elders ready to be insulted along the way.

The key features in summary include:

  • Four different worlds to explore, across both Space AND Time!
  • Unique time-pressured narrative requires players to hurry along NPCs as they uncover new information.
  • Uncover fresh narrative strands which are triggered by progression, time, space and logic.
  • 23 Heavenly Elders to insult! Gotta dis them all!
  • Exactly 4,250 dogs – none that you can pet.

You can add The Holy Gosh Darn to your Steam Wishlist right now. From there, we’ll keep you looped as to development progression and launch on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam later in 2023.

Give the trailer a watch too.
