Chicken Run Eggstraction – coming soon

The plot chickens once more!

Outright Games is teaming up with the legendary, multi-award-winning animation studio Aardman to release Chicken Run: Eggstraction, a brand-new action-stealth heist game.

Set to launch this autumn on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, this new adventure picks up right where the 2023 film, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, left off.

This marks the first Chicken Run video game in 25 years, giving fans a whole new way to experience the charm, wit, and chaotic energy of the beloved stop-motion franchise. And yeah, we know that there’s some Chicken Run content in Park Beyond…

The Great Egg-scape Continues

The adventure is far from over for our feathered friends.

In Chicken Run: Eggstraction, the gang is working together to save chicken-kind from the clutches of the evil nugget industry. Players will take control of the iconic Chicken Run characters and embark on a series of high-stakes missions to infiltrate five heavily fortified farms and liberate the captive chickens within.

This top-down adventure is all about stealth, strategy, and a little bit of poultry-powered chaos. Your main objective is to sneak into a variety of dangerous locations. You’ll need to carefully study your surroundings and formulate a plan to get in, rescue the chickens, and get out without being caught.

You’ll also be tested on your stealth skills as you navigate a host of “eggstra” security measures. This means avoiding the gaze of watchful security cameras and hawkeyed humans.

In true Chicken Run fashion, your methods will be unconventional, from creating distractions to hiding in traffic cones to avoid detection.

Best of all, you don’t have to hatch your plans alone. The game is equipped for up to two players in local co-op, allowing you and a friend to team up, coordinate your actions, and execute the perfect heist together.

A Flock of Familiar Voices and New Faces

To ensure an authentic experience, Chicken Run: Eggstraction brings back key talent from the film. Bella Ramsey and Josie Sedgwick-Davies reprise their roles to voice Molly and Frizzle, respectively. The game’s new story has been penned by Larry Rickard, one of the contributors to Dawn of the Nugget.

Players can also expect to encounter new loopy poultry villains, along with a surprise cameo from the latest Wallace & Gromit film, Vengeance Most Fowl, to spot.

Sean Clarke, Managing Director at Aardman says, “We are delighted to be working with Outright Games to bring a new Chicken Run adventure to the gaming community. Developing a game of this scale has been an exciting endeavour and has been a fantastic opportunity to expand the Chicken Run universe and continue building the brand in new and engaging ways for fans old and new.

Another Feather in Outright’s Cap?

It’s been a busy few weeks for Outright Games, with the family-friendly publisher announcing a slate of titles based on beloved properties. From the educational fun of Dora: Rainforest Rescue to the upcoming Chicken Run: Eggstraction, the publisher is continuing its mission to bring high-quality, accessible interactive entertainment to families on Xbox and all other major platforms.

We’re incredibly excited to be working with Aardman on the release of Chicken Run: Eggstraction, and the first Chicken Run video game in 25 years,” said Stephanie Malham, Managing Director of Outright Games. “Aardman’s style is so distinct, and it’s been amazing to see how they’ve adapted it for a video game. We cannot wait for fans of all ages to explore this new chapter in the Chicken Run story, and to see how they can wing it through the chaos that awaits them.

The chickens are counting on you to help them fly the coop. Prepare for a hilarious, high-stakes heist when Chicken Run: Eggstraction launches on Xbox and other platforms this autumn.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
