The adorable, albeit greedy, little pea charmed us in the old school platformer Awesome Pea last year and now it’s time for it to make a triumphant return via a sequel. Yep, Greedy Pea is back as the aptly named Awesome Pea 2 has arrived on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
This sequel – developed by PigeonDev and ported to consoles by Sometimes You – follows Greedy Pea for even more pixel-style adventures across 25 different levels. These will see you trying to traverse through dark dungeons and attempt to avoid deadly traps, in order to munch on every single gold coin in sight and, ultimately, reach the exit. That sounds straightforward enough, right? Well, given that the only special moves up its sleeve are a jump and double jump, your platforming skills need to be on-point if you’re going to overcome the challenging levels ahead.
Should Awesome Pea 2 be the totally retro platformer you need in your life right now, you’ll find it available to purchase on the Xbox Store for a mere £4.19 – at that price, it’s surely worth a punt. Don’t worry if you’re not an Xbox gamer though, because it’s also sold on the respective digital stores of both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
