His heart may have grown three sizes, and it seems his game has too!
Outright Games has today launched The Grinch: Christmas Adventures – Merry & Mischievous Edition, an expanded version of the 3D platformer, alongside a brand-new standalone DLC, Determined to Love Christmas.
Both the new edition and the expansion are available right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation platforms, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
This new wave of content adds a host of new levels, gadgets, and festive fun to the original game, giving players a fresh reason to explore the snowy land of Who-ville.
A Second Chance to Embrace the Grinchy Spirit
When the original The Grinch: Christmas Adventures arrived a couple of years back, we found ourselves in a bit of a “bah humbug” mood. In our 2.5/5 review, we noted that while it had its moments, it often felt repetitive, and by the end, “we had become the Grinch.“
This new Merry & Mischievous Edition and the Determined to Love Christmas expansion feel like a direct opportunity to address those concerns, adding significant new content and variety to flesh out the experience and truly capture the chaotic charm of its iconic anti-hero.
This new content is all about expanding the adventure, taking players to new locations and giving them new ways to play.
Six Brand-New Levels
Players can now explore and complete six brand-new, merry and mischievous levels with Max at their side. This includes all-new areas to discover, such as Who-ville’s Town Hall, the spooky Grinch Caves on Mount Crumpit, and the slimy Sewers.
Your loyal canine companion, Max, gets a significant upgrade with a new dynamic parachute ability for soaring through the snowy skies. The Grinch himself also gets a customisable jetpack, unlocking creative new ways to explore Who-ville and overcome obstacles like creepy spiders and not-so-nice gingerbread men.
How to Get the New Content
Whether you’re a new player or an existing owner of the base game, there’s an option for you.
- The Grinch: Christmas Adventures – Merry & Mischievous Edition (£34.99): This is the complete package for new players, including the base game and all the new DLC content in one bundle.
- The Grinch: Christmas Adventures – Determined to Love Christmas DLC (£9.99): For those who already own the original game, this standalone DLC pack includes all the new content—the six new levels, new gadgets, and more accessories—as an add-on.
A Word from the Publishers
The teams behind the game are excited to continue bringing the magic of the Grinch to life in an interactive way.
Stephanie Malham, Managing Director of Outright Games, added, “It’s been a pleasure to continue working hand in hand with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and bringing the magic and mischief of the Grinch to life in an interactive way that the whole family can enjoy. The Grinch: Christmas Adventures | Merry & Mischievous Edition is designed with even the youngest players in mind, and we hope fans will love the newest features as much as we do!”
The Grinch is on a mission to prove he’s had a change of heart, and now you can help him on his festive quest. With a host of new levels and fun new ways to play, this might just be the update to make even the grumpiest of hearts grow three sizes.
The new edition and the standalone DLC are both available now.
