Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 – now available

The epic and emotional journey of Tanjiro Kamado continues as the next chapter in the arena fighting saga has arrived.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 has launched in Advanced Access for Digital Deluxe Edition buyers, and is available to play right now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam).

Take Up the Sword Once Again

From SEGA and the masters of anime action at CyberConnect2, this sequel is bigger and better in every way, letting you relive the most spectacular arcs of the TV anime with breathtaking visuals and combat.

You can jump in today with the Deluxe Edition for ÂŁ64.99, or wait for the Standard Edition (ÂŁ59.99) to launch on August 5th.

Relive the Most Epic Arcs Yet

The single-player Story Mode in The Hinokami Chronicles 2 allows you to play as Tanjiro Kamado and experience the story of the TV anime like never before. You will face off against powerful Upper Rank demons in key moments from the “Entertainment District Arc,” the “Swordsmith Village Arc,” and the “Hashira Training Arc,” all brought to life with the series’ signature stunning visuals and cinematic flair.

More Characters, More Ways to Play

The roster of playable characters has been massively expanded, now featuring over 40 fighters to choose from. For the first time, all nine Hashira, the highest rank of the Demon Slayer Corps, are united and ready for battle in the VS Mode. New gameplay elements have also been added to deepen the combat, including powerful Dual Ultimates and a new Gear system.

SEGA has already confirmed a slate of post-launch content. An “Infinity Castle Arc Character Pass” is on the way, and series antagonist Muzan Kibutsuji will be available as a playable character in VS Mode via a free post-launch update.

PlayStation 5 players can also look forward to monthly PlayStation Tournaments starting in August, with a chance to win fabulous prizes.

Our Verdict: A Worthy Successor

We’ve already had the chance to dive deep into Tanjiro’s latest adventure, and we came away incredibly impressed. In our full 4.5/5 review of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2, we concluded:

Ultimately, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a definite improvement on its predecessor and delivers exciting arena fighting befitting of the anime. Story Mode is packed with intense encounters, stylish cutscenes and rewards you constantly. Beyond that, the Training Paths are the only guaranteed source of longevity, with The Path of a Demon Slayer lacking in depth and the versus modes hardly lighting the world on fire.

How to Play Early: The Deluxe Edition

If you want to jump into the action today, you’ll need to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition for ÂŁ64.99. This edition not only grants you immediate access but also includes:

  • The base game
  • Kimetsu Academy Character Unlock Keys (Kyojuro Rengoku and Tengen Uzui)
  • 4 Character Unlock Keys (Tengen Uzui, Obanai Iguro, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Gyomei Himejima)

  • 3 Battle Attire Costumes

Those who purchase before the full launch on August 5th will also receive pre-order bonuses, including Unlock Keys for Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji.

Key Features

  • Relive Three Epic Arcs: Play through the “Entertainment District,” “Swordsmith Village,” and “Hashira Training” arcs from the TV anime.
  • Over 40 Playable Characters: The roster is massively expanded, featuring all nine Hashira for the first time.
  • New Gameplay Mechanics: Unleash powerful Dual Ultimates and utilize the new Gear system.

Is Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on Game Pass?
