There’s just something about Hazel Sky that looks so, well, delightful. Go deeper though and it promises to get much darker.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC (through Steam), Hazel Sky places you in the shoes of Shane, a young engineer who has been sent to an island in order to complete his training. A series of Trials await Shane – should he pass them, all will be good in the world and he’ll be able to return to his homeland a hero; a fully fledged engineer. Fail and he’ll be banished from the land forever.

Priced at £19.99 and created by Brazilian Coffee Addict studio, picked up by their Taiwanese friends at Neon Doctrine, in the action adventures of Hazel Sky the problems that await Shane – and you – promise to be real. With just a few letters to read and a radio contacting him with a fellow trainee, Erin, you’ll need to help Shane traverse the world; jumping, climbing, swimming and even flying in hope of making his way back to his home of Gideon – a city floating high in the sky.

The world of Hazel Sky looks to be an intriguing one. Old flying machines are scattered around, letters tell of broken dreams and friendships are more than just, well, friendship. This is a heartfelt tale – but also one of magic, mystery and machines.

The key features of Hazel Sky include:

  • Repair and build an assortment of incredibly flying machines.
  • Jump, climb, swing, and slide your through the trials.
  • Discover the fates of those who passed the Trials before you. And those who failed.
  • Take to the skies in ramshackle flying machines.
  • Find peace and tranquility in the gorgeous world.
  • Explore and find hidden truths and fascinating insights into the people of Gideon.

We’re mid-point in review of Hazel Sky and will have some thoughts coming your way very soon. For now though you can grab a copy of the game from the usual stores – the Xbox Store providing the goods on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam

Game Description:

Hazel Sky is a heartfelt adventure about a young engineer facing his destiny and his desires. Sent to an island far from home in the flying city of Gideon, Shane must pass the trials and return as an Engineer or face banishment. Connected via radio, Shane and fellow trainee engineer, Erin strike up an illicit friendship. A friendship that will change the way Shane sees the world. The Trials are the ultimate test that every Engineer must take before taking the honored role. For Shane, the trials are his destiny, but destiny and desire rarely align and, in a world, divided between honored engineers and reviled artists, Shane finds himself torn. The trials, events in Gideon, and an unlikely romance tell the bittersweet story of love, ambition, and a society on the brink of something new.
