Hidden Cats in Rio de Janeiro
Hidden Cats in Rio de Janeiro – out now

The beloved cat-hunting series has returned, and it’s an absolute triumph of cozy, zen-like joy. We’ve already had the pleasure of combing through the beautiful streets of Rio in this new adventure, and we’re thrilled to report it’s a massive return to form.

Hidden Cats in Rio de Janeiro, the new title from Nukearts Studio, has launched today, 12th November 2025, on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for the incredibly low price of just £3.29. The game is also slated to launch on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch in the coming days.

For anyone looking for a low-stakes, high-reward evening of digital comfort, your search is over.

Our Verdict: A Welcome Return to Form

This series has seen some experimentation, but Hidden Cats in Rio de Janeiro is a masterclass in understanding what makes the genre so appealing. In our 4/5 review of the game, we praised this new entry for its purity and charm:

Hidden Cats in Rio de Janeiro is a welcome return to what makes the Hidden Cats franchise so appealing. By stripping away the narrative ambitions of Tokyo, it rediscovers the simple, zen-like joy that made us fall in love with the series in the first place. It understands exactly what it is: a low-stakes, high-reward evening of digital comfort.

A Brazilian Holiday of Hide-and-Seek

Your mission is a simple and delightful one: explore a charming scene set in the heart of Rio de Janeiro and play hide-and-seek with over 900 hidden objects. This, of course, includes a huge number of playful cats, but also lively street objects, sandy beaches, and famous landmarks.

The game features a beautiful monochrome art style that bursts into vibrant colour as you discover the hidden items in each section of the hand-drawn map.

With eight unique levels to unlock, collectible cards, and plenty of secrets to discover, it’s an addictive and rewarding loop.

Your Cat-Hunting Checklist

Here’s what you can expect from this cozy new adventure:

  • 900+ hidden objects to discover.
  • 8 unique, hand-drawn levels with unlockables.
  • Collectible cards, achievements, and secrets.
  • A beautiful original soundtrack with dynamic sound effects.
  • A 4/5 reviewed experience that we called “a welcome return to what makes the franchise so appealing.”

A new, relaxing adventure is waiting. If you’re a fan of cozy hidden object games and are ready to lose yourself in a zen-like hunt, Hidden Cats in Rio de Janeiro is the perfect, budget-friendly escape on the Xbox Store right now.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
