The Hidden Shapes series goes dark with the new Black Skull + Old West variant

-

hidden shapes black skull + old west

The first time we stumbled upon the Hidden Shapes games, it was with the rather delightful Animals + Lovely Cats. The name alone sold it. Now though it’s time for the series to get a bit darker, with the newly released Hidden Shapes: Black Skull + Old West.

Don’t get us wrong, Hidden Shapes: Black Skull + Old West is pretty much exactly the same as the game which came before it, leaving the player to work through the jigsawing delights in hope of creating the finest line drawings. The difference? We had Animals Lovely Cats before, now we’ve got black skulls and the draw of the old West. You probably couldn’t get too games of similar ilk running completely different lines.

Still, we’re always up for a jigsaw puzzle or two and in Hidden Shapes: Black Skull + Old West that’s exactly what we have. Your task is to rotate tiles in order to line things up and create the finest of drawings, all before moving on to the next, safe in the knowledge that your rotating skills are on point.

That’s pretty much it for Hidden Shapes: Black Skull + Old West and the Hidden Shapes series as a whole; we’d not expect too much different from when we reviewed Hidden Shapes: Animals + Lovely Cats

On the plus side, it’s certainly super cheap, running at just a £3.29 purchase for a download from the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. If you liked what came before, you should be fine with this offering.

Let us know what you think. And stay tuned for our review. We’re not sure it’s going to mention too much that is different from first time around, but a game is a game…

Game Description:

Hidden Shapes: Black Skull + Old West is a collection with two beautiful and relaxing minimalist hand-drawn jigsaw puzzles that have two options to choose, “Pirates” or “Cowboys”. Both games in this bundle have similar features and gameplay, in the Black Skull edition, the player will have the opportunity to play with elements of the classic jigsaw puzzle in a lot of Pirates themed puzzles. In the Old West version, the player will have the same features, but with different levels and now with a diversity of Cowboys related puzzles. Both games are created exclusively for you to rescue your tranquility and to be amazed by beautiful art for each puzzle solved, using abstract and minimalist elements!
