After awakening on a huge, derelict cargo ship without any knowledge of what’s occurred beforehand, you’ll have to adapt quickly in Monstrum. There’s a terrifying predator on the loose you see, and it’s going to track you down wherever you may be in this procedurally generated ship. Left completely defenseless against a prowling beast, the only way to survive is to distract, hide, or slow the thing down before running for your life.
Being a procedurally generated cargo ship not only ensures that you stay lost in the labyrinth of rooms that change with each new game, but also randomises the monster hunting you too. Scavenging for clues and tools really is the only way you’re getting out alive in this replayable horror experience. Due to the presence of permadeath and absolutely no save points, you’ll only have one chance at it; getting killed will mean having to start again from scratch, so be careful!

Monstrum is the latest title from publishers SOEDESCO, who have recently rebranded to kick-start their evolution as a company. Their new slogan is ‘it’s in your hands’, which is the message they’re trying to convey to the gaming community. Furthermore, SOEDESCO now have a reimagined logo and website as they continue to work on developing games for the next generation of consoles.
