Back in 2018, gamers were given the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of The Mooseman, as Sometimes You delivered a mysterious world full of ancient myth. Today, some three years on from that launch, that same game is being upgraded, making the most of the power of Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 is the next-gen version of The Mooseman. Now, if you have previously purchased the game, you’ll be able to upgrade your version to the new next-gen powered edition with a 50% discount in tow. If not, expect to pay around £5.79 for the Xbox Store download you need. Alternatively, there’s a free trial in place too.
But what is The Mooseman? Well, it’s a game that plays on ancient myths, mystery and hidden secrets. It tells of the Middle World, or how spirits lay amongst others and how the journey through this world will be able to delight the player with artefacts of tribes and more.
It’s a game that we’re torn with. On one hand the art style shines, as does the music and the journey that you’ll be taken on. But there are frustrating moments too – mostly focused around the slow pace and nature of the game.
In fact, the key features of the game (those that you need to bear in mind) include:

- • Dive into the deep atmosphere of folk Komi music
- • Meet long forgotten gods and spirits
- • Learn the ancient myths of finno-ugric tribes
