Stranded Above An Endless Ocean

In Aquamarine, you play as The Seeker, a lone space traveller whose ship is disrupted by a mysterious signal while orbiting an uncharted aquaplanet. Forced to eject, you crash land on a small island surrounded by an endless alien sea.

Your only companion is an amphibious survival pod.

From that moment on, survival becomes a careful balance of exploration and restraint. Each plunge into the depths is deliberate. Every movement costs resources. Every decision matters.

The ultimate goal is simple in theory, as you aim to reach your crashed ship. But the ocean between you and safety is layered with environmental puzzles, unpredictable wildlife and remnants of a lost civilisation waiting to be understood.

A Playable Comic With Roguelike Edges

Aquamarine stands out visually. Inspired by the psychedelic science fiction of the 1970s and 1980s, it unfolds like a living graphic novel. Panels frame exploration, dialogue and discoveries, giving the adventure a distinctive, almost meditative presentation.

Beneath that calm exterior sits a system-driven survival game. Exploration is turn-based, forcing you to think ahead rather than react on impulse. Navigation requires planning. Supplies are finite. Weather and wildlife introduce unexpected complications.

There are roguelike elements at play, meaning preparation and adaptability are key. Each excursion into the water carries risk. A poorly planned dive can leave you scrambling to recover.

Survival Through Study And Strategy

Mastering your pod’s controls is only the beginning. Aquamarine asks you to study the ecosystem.

Alien plants can be cultivated, each offering unique properties that assist survival. Foraging for food and salvaging tools becomes routine, but rarely trivial. Crafting upgrades for your pod improves resilience and opens new possibilities, allowing deeper exploration with greater confidence.

And as you venture further from the safety of your starting island, fragments of the planet’s history emerge. The mystery of the strange signal that brought you here gradually takes shape, adding narrative weight to each step forward.

Built For Xbox And PC

Aquamarine: Explorer’s Edition arrives on Xbox Series X|S and PC with Play Anywhere support through the Xbox Store, allowing players to move seamlessly between platforms with shared progress. For a game built around steady exploration and incremental advancement, that flexibility feels fitting.

At £16.74, it offers a more reflective survival experience; one that prioritises atmosphere and thoughtful pacing over spectacle.
