The Old Blood update arrives for free on Xbox One and PS4 to bring lots of content to Warframe

The folks over at Digital Extremes are back with yet another massive update to their free-to-play action-packed shooter, Warframe. The Old Blood update is here for Xbox One and PS4 to introduce the Kuva Lich, the Grendel Warframe, some reworks to melee combat and classic Warframes, as well as a host of other gameplay improvements. And it won’t cost you a penny to have a gander.

With the arrival of this latest free content, prepare to get to grips with the 42nd Warframe, Grendel, and to hunt down your own personal nemesis in the form of the Kuva Lich. The Old Blood update for Warframe on consoles also looks to add a host of major upgrades to core gameplay mechanics and Warframes for both new and veteran players to sink their teeth into. As a result, it’s creating a foundation for the upcoming launch of the highly-anticipated journey to space in Empyrean, which is expected in thecoming months.

• The Kuva Lich: Hunt down your personal nemesis across the Origin System and slay it with your hidden Parazon Blade for powerful rewards, or convert it into an ally.
• Grendel Warframe: The 42nd Warframe is armed with stomach-churning Abilities that consume and regurgitate his enemies. Grendel can be constructed from parts acquired free in-game or purchased in the Marketplace, either standalone or as part of a Bundle.
• Melee Changes: Phase 2: Melee combat in Warframe gets more streamlined and deep with this significant gameplay overhaul. It adds hundreds of weapon buffs, re-balanced stats, Heavy Attacks, melee attacks that link to juggles, and a reworked combo system that makes initiating, chaining and ending combos seamless and intuitive.
• Ember and Vauban Reworked for Modern Warframe: Classic Warframes Ember and Vauban have had their stats adjusted and their core Abilities re-imagined, making them feel more versatile, powerful and appropriate for modern day Warframe gameplay.
• New Collectibles and TennoGen Items: Collectors will have a bevy of new cosmetics, companions, and more to obtain inThe Old Bloodwith the Titania Deluxe Collection, a new vampiric Kavat species, and four new community created TennoGen cosmetic Bundles.
