Starship Troopers Extermination – now in V1.0 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

The Arachnids are invading, and it’s up to you to send them back to the abyss in Starship Troopers: Extermination.

Offworld Industries, in partnership with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, is deploying Starship Troopers: Extermination, the adrenaline-fueled co-op FPS inspired by the cult classic sci-fi film, onto Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Having battled its way through Early Access on PC with “Mostly Positive” reviews on Steam, this 16-player co-op shooter is now ready to unleash a bug-squashing extravaganza on console gamers.

Join the Mobile Infantry, Become an Exterminator!

Enlist in the Deep Space Vanguard, an elite Special Forces branch of the Mobile Infantry, and prepare for an all-out war against the Arachnid menace.

Team up with up to 15 other players and experience the thrill of cooperative bug-hunting across the hostile terrains of alien planets. Remember, service guarantees citizenship.

A True Starship Troopers Experience

Starship Troopers: Extermination faithfully captures the spirit of the film, immersing you in a world of intense action, strategic teamwork, and overwhelming odds.

From the iconic Morita Assault Rifle to the diverse Arachnid enemies, the game delivers an authentic and exhilarating experience for fans of the franchise.

Key Features That Would Make Rico Proud

  • THE WAR EFFORT NEEDS YOUR EFFORT! – Your mission: scour massive planets and warzones while battling relentless hordes of Bugs. With hundreds of Arachnids swarming your screen at a time — and traversable, destructible carapaces stacking up thanks to the persistent Carnage System — you Troopers are the only ones holding back the tide in this immense planetary struggle!
  • DO YOUR PART – Take orders from the legendary General Johnny Rico (voiced by Casper Van Dien) in an all-new single-player mode. When you’re ready, squad up for the full 16-player co-op experience and fight online together. The battlefield expands in the Galactic Front, where you can join a Company, push for collective goals and special rewards, and influence the game’s ongoing story.
  • WELCOME TO THE NEW VANGUARD – Choose from six classes to suit your playstyle and support your squad. Attack with the Ranger, squash Bugs at range with the Sniper, deal devastation with the Demolisher, cover your team with the Guardian, fortify positions with the Engineer, and save lives with the Medic. Progress with each class to unlock new weapons, equipment, perks, and customization options.
  • THE ONLY GOOD BUG… – Increasing threat levels beckon bigger, more dangerous Bugs… so you’re going to need to hunker down to stand a chance. Retake and rebuild bases, and construct refineries, towers, machine-gun turrets, and more to wrest control of planets away from Bugs. Ready your defenses, then aim for the weak spots on Drones, Warriors, Gunners, Plasma Grenadiers, Tanker Bugs, and more!

More Than Just Bug Hunting

Starship Troopers: Extermination offers more than just mindless bug-slaying. Strategic base building and resource management are crucial for survival, adding a layer of depth to the gameplay experience.

You’ll also get to coordinate with your squad in order to construct defenses, gather resources, and complete objectives to secure victory against the Arachnid threat.

Dev speak!

“From day one, we’ve been  chasing the target of creating the “authentic Troopers experience”. We poured over the source material to find the essence of what it means to be a Trooper in the Deep Space Vanguard and did our best to bring that to life” – Gareth Woods, Head of Marketing

“It’s been an epic journey through Early Access, and our squad has been nothing short of extraordinary. I’m so proud of what our team has been able to achieve on systems like Carnage, which is brand-new tech we weren’t even sure was possible. Seeing those bodies pile up and change the environment without performance being impacted is something to behold. But we aren’t getting too comfortable—this is just the beginning! We’re charging full speed ahead into the future, and we can’t wait to share what’s next for Starship Troopers: Extermination” – Peter Maurice, Project Lead

The War Effort Needs You!

Starship Troopers: Extermination is available now on PC through Steam after an Early Access period. But most excitedly is the launch on Xbox Series X|S (Xbox Store for you) and PlayStation 5. It’s going to cost you around. ÂŁ41.74.

Ready to gear up with the best weaponry, and join the fight for humanity’s survival. The only good bug is a dead bug…

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
