Plants vs Zombies Replanted
Plants vs Zombies Replanted – out now

After years spent in Crazy Dave’s attic, the original battle between flora and the brain-hungry undead is back, bigger, brighter, and crazier than ever before as Plants vs. Zombies gets Replanted!

The classic tower defense game that started a phenomenon, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, has launched as a fully remastered adventure from developer PopCap Games and EA. It is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC for ÂŁ17.99.

Prepare to relive the glory days of pea shooters, sunflowers, and brain-hungry chaos, now packed with new levels, fresh twists, and 15 years of never-before-seen franchise history.

From Tower Defense to Team Shooters

We’ve been battling the zombie horde in various forms for years. Back in 2014, we explored the series’ shift to a team shooter with Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. In our 3/5 review, we called it a “unique hilarious shooter” but noted a “poor showing in variety of game modes.

By 2016, with Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2, we saw “significant improvement,” praising its “healthy amount of gameplay options” and the addition of the “very nice” Backyard Battleground.

Most recently, in 2019, we reviewed Plants Vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, finding it to be “pretty much Garden Warfare 2.5,” offering “plenty of fun” despite a lack of originality.

Now, the series returns to its roots, remastering the game that started it all while injecting new life and content into the beloved tower defense formula.

The Ultimate Garden Defense, Replanted

The original Plants vs. Zombies game has been fully remastered in stunning HD graphics, bringing the iconic backyard standoffs to life like never before. You’ll fend off waves of brain-hungry zombies in the original lane-based defense mode, now with added bonus levels and brand-new content!

Replanted introduces exciting new features:

  • Local Co-op: Team up with a friend to defend the backyard together, now with “100% more BUTTER!”
  • Local PvP: Battle head-to-head by taking control of the Zombies yourself.
  • Cloudy Day Mode: A brand-new tactical challenge where sunlight is limited, forcing new planting strategies.
  • Rest In Peace Hardcore Mode: A permadeath option for Adventure mode, where one mistake could send you right back to the beginning.
  • You can also relive classic mini-games like Wall-Nut Bowling, now with HD polish and even more chaotic fun.
