2026's Best Games

2021 has been a busy old year for the Dead Drop Studios team, seeing them push out a whole plethora of Outbreak titles to console; mostly in the form of Xbox Series X|S Optimised experiences. Today though they deliver an Anthology of their finest games, those which play on the cooperative side of gaming with the Outbreak Co-Op Anthology bundling together four Outbreak titles into one easy to handle package.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, the Outbreak Co-op Anthology is Dead Drops answer to those looking for some proper survival horror – co-op style.

It’s priced at ÂŁ49.99 and by opening the wallet and dropping a purchase you’ll discover full access to four of their games – Outbreak, Outbreak: Endless Nightmares, Outbreak: Epidemic and Outbreak: The New Nightmare.

No matter which game you take in, expect a similar pattern to emerge – hunt for supplies, solve puzzles and fight back against the undead, taking in the action via over-the-shoulder, fixed camera, first person and overhead views. There’s a lot going on here.

But what’s more, there are actually 6 games included in the Co-Op Anthology as Xbox Series X|S gamers will also gain access to the Definitive X|S Optimised versions of Outbreak: Epidemic and Outbreak: The New Nightmare too.

We can’t promise that the Outbreak series of games is something you have to have in your life, and a quick glance at our reviews of Outbreak: Endless Nightmares, Outbreak: The New Nightmare or Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles certainly isn’t going to tempt you in, but if you have money to burn and want to take a punt, the Xbox Store will sort you out with the download you are looking for.

If you do decide to jump in, let us know how you find the Outbreak Co-Op Anthology. The comments are below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
