33 Immortals – now available in full

When 33 Immortals first arrived in Game Preview and Game Pass back in March 2025, it immediately stood out from the crowd. Not because it was another roguelike, and not because it borrowed ideas from MMO raids, but because it dared to ask a simple question: what if thirty-three players tackled a roguelike together?

Now, after months in early access and community feedback, Thunder Lotus has officially launched 33 Immortals in full across Xbox and PC. Available day one through Game Pass, the co-op action-roguelike is ready to see whether its ambitious multiplayer formula can become one of the service’s next big success stories.

  • Publisher: Thunder Lotus

Thirty-Three Players Against The Afterlife

The concept behind 33 Immortals remains one of the most intriguing in modern multiplayer gaming.

Players take on the role of damned souls who have refused to accept eternal punishment. Instead of submitting to divine judgment, they join a growing rebellion against God himself, battling through increasingly dangerous realms.

Unlike traditional roguelikes that focus on solo survival or small groups, 33 Immortals throws players together into a shared battlefield. The goal is simple: survive, cooperate, and somehow keep enough rebels alive to stand a chance against the game’s enormous boss encounters.

It’s an MMO-style raid experience condensed into fast-moving sessions designed to get players into the action quickly.

A Full Release After A Year Of Refinement

Thunder Lotus has spent considerable time developing the game following its initial Game Preview launch.

Back when we first covered the arrival of 33 Immortals on Xbox and Game Pass, the sheer scale of its multiplayer ambitions was enough to grab attention. Later, in our first-look impressions, we found plenty to like in the concept, particularly the accessibility of jumping into large-scale cooperative action without the usual commitment required by traditional MMO raids.

Now comes the moment of truth. The full release represents the completed vision of 33 Immortals, bringing together its cooperative systems, progression mechanics, boss encounters and afterlife-inspired world into the experience Thunder Lotus originally set out to create.

One Of Game Pass’ Most Unique Multiplayer Experiences?

Game Pass has become home to no shortage of multiplayer titles over the years, but few arrive with a pitch quite as unusual as 33 Immortals.

The combination of drop-in accessibility, large-scale co-op action and roguelike progression gives Thunder Lotus a chance to carve out its own niche in a crowded genre. Whether it ultimately becomes a long-term Game Pass obsession remains to be seen, but the foundations certainly remain intriguing.

With the early access period now behind it, Xbox and PC players can finally experience the complete version of 33 Immortals through the Xbox Store, and discover whether this rebellion against the afterlife is worth joining. Stay tuned for our full review.

33 Immortals is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Xbox Play Anywhere, priced at ÂŁ16.74 or included with Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
