A launch via Game Pass and an inclusion in our Up Next article for May 2022, finding a place in and amongst the most exciting Xbox games to release this month? Yep, that’s Trek to Yomi right there.

Available to purchase and download for £16.74 – or download via the Game Pass route should you so wish – Trek to Yomi is a cinematic action adventure in which you take on the role of a samurai, Hiroki, sworn to protect your village and friends at all costs. Of course, for a samurai, that’s an every day job.

Playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via a download from the Xbox Store, through Game Pass for those subscribed (and c’mon, you are subscribed, right!?), or on PS4, PS5 and PC, Trek to Yomi promises much; huge atmosphere, stunning monochrome visuals and tons of period correct detail.

That’s all good, but you’ll have to be constantly on your guard, as one single hit may well signal the end.

We’re currently hands on with Trek to Yomi and will be able to deliver our full review thoughts very soon – spoiler alert – it’s looking like being one of those games you just have to play.

In the meantime, you can visit your favourite digital store and get in on the action yourself. Let us know what you think of it once you have. Running Game Pass certainly seems to be a no-brainer here but drop your thoughts into the comments or hit us up on the socials – we’d love to know your thoughts.

Game Description:

As a vow to his dying Master, the young swordsman Hiroki is sworn to protect his town and the people he loves against all threats. Faced with tragedy and bound to duty, the lone samurai must voyage beyond life and death to confront himself and decide his path forward.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
